Has it been a chore to maintain your multiple social media accounts across the Internet? Perhaps your Tumblr blog, or “Tumblog,” has become too cluttered after posting about all your favorite films, TV series, and idols. Wouldn’t you want a new and more organized blog? Delete your Tumblr account and start afresh!
It might seem like a big move, but starting over is pretty simple. It’s almost as easy as refreshing a web page!
What Happens if you Delete your Tumblr Account?
Once your account has been deleted, you will lose all text posts, photos, videos, and the followers you’ve gained. But don’t worry, you aren’t completely gone from the Tumblr community! Other users might have been inspired by some of your posts and “re-blogged” them. These posts will continue to appear on people’s dashboards with your blog title labeled as “deactivated”.
You may use the same e-mail address linked to your deleted account for your new Tumblr account. Think of it as closing a tab and opening a new one — you’re still using the same window!
Delete your Tumblr Account
Have you really made up your mind? Just follow these steps:
- Launch Safari.
- You cannot delete your Tumblr account through the app. You may use your mobile browser or desktop.
- Go to www.tumblr.com
- Tap “Log In”…
And select “Use password to log in”.
- You may also ask Tumblr to send you a “magic link” through email.
- Input your email address and password.
And hit “Log in”.
- From the Home page, press the Menu button.
- Select “Settings”…
…and go to “Account”.
- Press “Delete account”.
- Enter your email address and password again…
…and then press “Delete everything”.
- You have successfully deleted your Tumblr account!
Begin Again!
That didn’t take long now, did it? It’s out with the old and in with the new! Now that your old Tumblr account is gone, you can sign up again immediately. Make that fresh start you might have needed and begin your renewed Tumblr experience!
